Privacy Policy

Last updated: 9 July 2026

FlashSync (“the app”) is a local, offline light-show tool: one phone (the Conductor) controls the camera flashlights of nearby phones (the Orchestra) over the same local Wi-Fi network or hotspot. This policy explains what the app accesses and why.

In short

  • We do not collect, store, or share any personal data.
  • No accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no third-party tracking.
  • Everything happens directly between your devices on your local network — nothing is sent to us or any external server.

Permissions and how they are used

Microphone

Used only by the “Music Sync” feature to detect the beat of music playing near the device, in real time, on the device. Audio is analyzed frame-by-frame and immediately discarded. It is never recorded, saved, or transmitted anywhere.

Camera

Used only to scan the pairing QR code shown by the Conductor. No photos or video are captured, stored, or transmitted. (The flashlight/torch itself does not use this permission.)

Local network & Wi-Fi

Used to discover and connect devices on the same local Wi-Fi or hotspot and to send light cues between them. The app makes no connections to the internet.

Foreground service & notification

Keeps the light session responsive (and, for the Conductor, keeps beat detection working) while the screen is off. The notification simply shows that a session is running. No data is collected by this service.

Data sharing

We do not share any data with third parties, because we do not collect any.

Children’s privacy

The app does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
